Officers of the National Anticorruption Center (NAC) have detained an investigator of their Center for 72 hours. The investigator is suspected of having taken evidence from a case he was handling after filing his resignation.
NAC’s press service reported that a verification of the acceptance report on the cases handled by the investigator after his resignation established that some evidence in a case was missing.
“A criminal prosecution has been initiated in this respect and the suspect has been detained for 72 hours. NAC’s internal security division will provide the necessary assistance to the prosecutors to examine the case in all its aspects,” a statement of the institution said.
An investigation has been initiated to clarify all the circumstances of the case and Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office has been notified in this respect.
