10th SPAI Steering Group Meeting, May 2006 - Belgrade, Serbia

The main objectives of this meeting were to:

- Discuss and identify solutions for ensuring the sustainability of the Initiative and its Secretariat in the future;
- Prepare steps for the regional ownership responsibility of the SPAI-RSLO as a result of the outcomes from the Working Table III meeting regarding the process of transferring the ownership to regional actors;
- Identify and agree on the member countries' national resources and to advocate with their respective governments.

Conference on Promoting Incorporation of International Anti-Corruption Standards into Serbian Legislation, September 20-21, 2005 - Belgrade, Serbia

The conference, held on 20-21 September in Belgrade and attended by 140 participants, was opened by Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, Minister of Justice Zoran Stojkovic, Ambassador Maurizio Massari, Head of OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, H.E. Hugues Pernet, Ambassador of the Republic of France to Serbia and Montenegro and Prof. Ugo Draetta, SPAI Chairman. The event was organized by the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia, in co-operation with the Stability Pact Anti-Corruption Initiative/Regional Secretariat Liaison Office (SPAI/RSLO). The conference gathered representatives from relevant Ministries, the National Assembly, bodies in charge of preventing corruption and the civil society.

SPAI RSLO’s Regional Tour, February 18, 2005 - Belgrade, Serbia

During February and March 2005, SPAI RSLO team conducted a regional tour which involved all SPAI member countries. On February 18th , SPAI RSLO's representatives, Mr. Veselin Sukovic, Executive Secretary and Mr. Cornel - Virgiliu Calinescu, Anticorruption Expert visited Belgrade, Serbia.

OECD - SPAI Seminar on Budget Transparency as an Anticorruption Tool, June 3-4, 2004 - Belgrade, Serbia

Budget transparency is a powerful tool to prevent and fight corruption. It combines regular budget reports, efficient control and close parliament and civil society scrutiny. These issues were for the first time addressed in the framework of the SPAI by experts from the Ministries of Finance, Ministries of Justice and specialized anti-corruption institutions at a seminar hold by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Belgrade on 3-4 June 2004.
