Edmond DUNGA - Head of the Office

Professional background

Mr. Dunga joined the Secretariat at the beginning of October 2007. After his law studies in Paris, he worked in the anti-corruption service in the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania. He had a long experience in the development of anti-corruption strategies, researches, studies and reports. He was actively involved in different legal initiatives aiming at the harmonization of the Albanian anti-corruption with international and European standards. In particular, he was co-drafter and coordinator of the process of drafting, adoption and further amendments of the law on the prevention of conflict of interests. He was co-author of manuals and guidelines covering this issue (2004-2006).

He had a significant experience of co-operation with international organizations such as CoE, USAID, OECD, SPAI, UNODC etc. He is Bureau member of GRECO since January 2007 as well as representative of his country in GRECO since September 2004.

Responsibilities of the Head of the Office

In consultation with the Regional Anti-corruption Initiative Chairman and Steering Group, the Head of the Office is responsible for overall supervision and management of the Secretariat, to include its initial establishment and subsequent operations. The Head of the Office will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relations with Regional Anti-corruption Initiative counterparts in regional states, other Regional Anti-corruption Initiative partner states, representatives of international organizations, and nongovernmental organizations.

Stanislav ALEKSANDROV - Anti-Corruption Expert

Professional background

Mr. Aleksandrov joined RAI Secretariat starting with November 2007, following the selection and interview procedures, conducted within the SPAI. Mr. Aleksandrov graduated at the Sofia University “St. Climent Ohridski”, obtaining Master’s degree of Science in Law and Certificate for qualification in International relations, the second one issued by Sofia University’s Free Faculty.

Before joining RAI Secretariat, Mr. Aleksandrov worked for 2 years as a legal adviser for “Agrocomplect” Inc., Sofia. During his work for this famous Bulgarian foreign trade company, he was acquainted with specific legislation, including after privatization control. After this experience Mr. Aleksandrov started to work for the Bulgarian government as the anti-corruption officer within the Security Committee of the Council of Ministers including:

  • Taking part in meetings on the question of high – level corruption prevention in the field of the management of public funds and privatization;
  • Participating in expert group, working on strategy against money laundering and VAT law violation;
  • Preparing papers on the political and security climate in SEE for different working groups for their participation in regional activities.
Responsibilities of the Anti-Corruption Expert

According to the RAI Secretariat terms of references approved by the Steering Group, the Anti-Corruption Expert is tasked to have a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining relations with law enforcement and legal experts in regional states, other RAI partner states, representatives of international organizations and NGOs. Furthermore, the Anti-Corruption Expert will be responsible for technical advice and guidance on anti-corruption and related law enforcement issues and for technical contribution to regional training programs, conducted under the RAI and the Secretariat.

Dajana STAJIC - Finance and Administrative Assistant

Professional background

Starting with July 2004, the Finance and Administrative's functions are being covered by Ms. Dajana Stajic. Ms. Stajic graduated at the University of Sarajevo, Department of Psychology, with her Master’s degree obtained in Educational Sciences. Besides different organizational and administrative tasks that Ms. Stajic was obtaining, she also has a professional experience in coordinating projects and public relations within various local NGOs and international organizations.

Responsibilities of the Finance and Administrative Assistant

According to the Terms of reference for the RAI Secretariat approved by the Steering Group, the Finance and Administrative Assistant is in charge of planning and executing all financial activities in the Secretariat in accordance with internal and donors’ financial policies and procedures. Also, he or she is responsible for all administrative support to the Secretariat and to the Head of the Office and Anti-Corruption Expert. He or she will also provide general support to the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative Chairman and the Steering Group, as coordinated by the Head of the Office.

Veselin JOVANOVIC - Fundraising and Outreach Assistant

Professional background

Mr. Jovanovic joined the RAI Secretariat on 01 December 2007, following its internal selection and interview procedures. Mr. Jovanovic has worked within several international non-governmental and inter-governmental organizations (Refugee Trust Ireland, International Organization for Migration and United Nations Development Programme) in Bosnia and Herzegovina implementing psycho-social, reconstruction and return, and local governance projects cooperating with the national and international governments.

He has broad experience in preparing and writing of project proposals, fundraising, project implementation, program/project management, report writing, planning, budgeting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities of the Fundraising and Outreach Assistant

According to the approved Terms of reference, the Fundraising and Outreach Assistant is in charge of developing and achieving RAI Secretariat’s strategic fundraising goals, playing an active role in managing relationships with donors, researching and responding to requests, and creating and disseminating related outreach materials. Also, the Fundraising and Outreach Assistant is responsible for design, maintenance, upgrading, data security and integration and access controls of the RAI’s official web site (www.rai-see.org) and its relevant components and databases.
