MONTENEGRINS BELIEVE CORRUPTION IS MOSTLY PRESENT IN THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM, CUSTOMS AND POLICE

Montenegrins believe corruption is mostly present in the healthcare system, customs and police, according to a poll of public awareness of corruption carried out on behalf of the Directorate for Anti-corruption Initiative, local media reported. Forty percent of respondents believe that the level of corruption has decreased, while 8.9% think it is higher. As for the reasons for corruption, respondents listed low income of civil servants, lack of civil awareness and responsibility and nepotism. A lack of trust in authorities is the main reason respondents gave for not reporting corruption.
