Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative - Macedonia

This meeting was mainly focused on:

• The exchange of updated information from relevant international organizations as well as the progress done in respective SPAI member countries;
• The adoption of the Work Plan for 2006-2007;
• Measures (at least three) to be undertaken by member countries for immediate implementation of the Brussels Ministerial Declaration;
• The development of the Anti-Corruption Resource Center;
• The renewal of mandates for the Secretariat staff.

During February and March 2005, SPAI RSLO team conducted a regional tour which involved all SPAI member countries. RSLO's Executive Secretary Mr. Veselin Sukovic and Anticorruption Expert Mr. Cornel - Virgiliu Calinescu participated within a series of bilateral meetings and public roundtables aiming to ensure a regional dissemination of the recent developments within the SPAI framework.  Furthermore, the purpose of the tour was to establish direct contacts with the main institutions and organizations involved in the fight against corruption and to identify together practical ways of cooperating in implementing the SPAI Strategy and SPAI RSLO Workplan.

During November 17 - 18, 2004, SPAI RSLO Executive Secretary and Anticorruption Expert attended In Skopje, Macedonia, the 10th Working Table III Meeting of the Stability Pact organized within the Regional Working Table Meeting. The topic of the Working Table III meeting was Regional Ownership and Implementation: Fighting Organised Crime and Corruption. SPAI RSLO Executive Secretary delivered during the meeting a brief presentation of the SPAI Mission, Programmatic Activities, Achievements and Next Events.
