International Anti-Corruption Conference: Corruption prevention in the midst of crisis? - November 22-23, 2010 - Cologne, Germany

Has the worldwide financial and economic crisis had an effect on corruption prevention measures and efforts in the fight against corruption? Has the "corruption" problem become less important in the face of fears about one’s livelihood and the need to set new priorities?

The participants will have the opportunity to examine these very questions with experts in the field from numerous countries and work areas.

Moreover, this conference seeks to:
•    provide information about the current work of OLAF in protecting the financial interests of the European Union;
•    bring together actors in the fight against corruption and thereby facilitate the development of networks: and
•    promote the exchange of information and dialogue on such special topics as: "Whistleblowing", "Corruption prevention in German municipalities", "Human resources development in corruption prevention efforts" and "Ethics offices for the public administration".
