The Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat organized South-East European (SEE) Regional Conference on "Suppression of Corruption in Public Procurement Systems" on November 12 - 13, 2008, in Cavtat, Croatia. The event was financially supported by USAID through ABA - ROLI. It was attended by more than 30 participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and UNMIK/Kosovo, as well as by experts representing OLAF, OECD and SIGMA.

A major step towards improving efficacy and regional ownership in the fight against corruption in South Eastern Europe was made during a meeting on "Standards of the European Union and the Rule of Law in South Eastern Europe" held in Zagreb, Croatia, from April 12-13, 2007. Following a discussion of enhancing cooperation in judicial reforms, ministers of justice from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Moldova, Montenegro, and Romania signed the "Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Concerning Co-operation in Fighting Corruption through the South Eastern European Anti-Corruption Initiative."

During Septemeber 2005, SPAI RSLO initiated the pilot project designed to ensure networking and exchange of experiences among anticorruption prosecutors in the region. The first stage of this project included a study visit of team of Montenegrin prosecutors to the Croatian Prosecutor's Office Specialized on Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption. The event took place in Zagreb, Croatia, during 4th and 10th of September 2005, within the USKOK premises. The meeting benefited of the high level participation of the State General Prosecutors from the two countries, Mrs. Vesna Medenica - Republic of Montenegro and Mladen Bajic - Croatia as well as the of the chiefs special prosecutors fighting organized crime and corruption - Mrs. Stojanka Radovic - Republic of Montenegro and Mr. Zeljko Zganjer - Croatia.
