“Co-operation and Exchange of Best Practices in the Fight Against Corruption” - Twinning Type Activity

Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat and the Albanian High Inspectorate for Declaration and Audit of Assets (HIDAA) co-organized on May 25 - 28, 2008, in Tirana, Albania, a twinning type activity between the up-mentioned High Inspectorate and the newly established National Integrity Agency (NIA) in Romania. RAI Secretariat supported the funding for covering the traveling and accommodation costs of NIA representatives.

Achievements of the Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) presented during the Working Table III meeting

The meeting of the three Working Tables of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, hosted by the Albanian government, took place on 3-4 December in Tirana International Hotel. The meetings marked the next milestone in the transformation process of the Stability Pact into the Regional Co-operation Council (RCC). During the discussions, special attention was given to the past achievements, the lessons learnt and the challenges remaining for the RCC with regards to the Stability Pact's various initiatives and task forces.

From April 3-4, 2007, SPAI RSLO and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) organized and presented a regional conference on "Implementing the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) - Sharing Best Practices and Lessons Learned in Preventing Corruption." Albanian Deputy Prime Minister Gazmend Oketa address the event, which brought together participants from Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and UNMIK (Kosovo).
